Returns the year corresponding to a date. The return value is an integer between 1900 and 9999.

Syntax
YEAR(serial_number)
Serial_number represents a date value that contains the year you are looking for.

Dates should be entered using the DATE function or as the result of another formula or function.

For example, use DATE(2008,5,23) to enter May 23, 2008. Problems arise if the date is entered as text.
