Joseph Joseph is a fashionable kitchenware brand from the UK. They collaborated with Equals design studio to launch a series of innovative products. Today I’m going to introduce you to a kitchen detail that is easily overlooked: the sieve.
When cooperating with Joseph Joseph, Equals Studio did a lot of market research work, including Joseph Joseph's market positioning, people's consumption attitudes and habits, usage of kitchen utensils, etc. They also conducted detailed research on the sieve, not only trying it themselves, but also repeatedly observing the use of other users. Finally, they discovered a natural but easily forgotten detail: most people use two hands when using a sieve to sift ingredients.
The reason is that one hand cannot control it well. Traditional sieves rely on the other hand to provide inertia, and the sieve must stop suddenly to screen. The idea behind Equals Studio is to let the sieve do the work itself. The handle of this sieve that can "nod" by itself does not have a fixed connection, but leaves a little "leeway", so that the main part of the sieve can "nod" by itself for screening, freeing up the other hand.
