After using the numbering function in a Word document, when you press the Enter key to change the line, Word will automatically continue numbering on the new line. But sometimes we may not need this automatic numbering function. Here are the steps on how to cancel automatic numbering: 1. Click the "File" menu in the upper left corner of the document and select "Options". 2. In the pop-up "Word Options" dialog box, select "Edit". 3. Find the "AutoNumbering" section and uncheck "Automatically apply an autonumbering list as you type." 4. Click "OK" to save the settings. After re-entering the content and pressing the Enter key, Word will no longer automatically generate numbers. Please note: Changing settings may not take effect immediately.
