Table of contents page numbers and text page numbers generally need to be separated, but when we insert page numbers on any page, the system will automatically start from the first page. Add page numbers to all pages sequentially. How to flexibly set the table of contents and text page numbers independently?
Just use "sectioning"!
￭ You can view the document sections in "Chapter Navigation". Sectioning can be simply understood as dividing the document into different modules, and different modules can use different page settings.
￭ First, insert section breaks between the pages where the page number format needs to be distinguished, that is, insert section breaks between the table of contents page and the text page.
Click "Add Section" on the "Chapter" tab.
￭ Double-click the bottom of the page and click "Insert Page Number".
￭ Set "Application Scope" to "This Section".
￭ Click "Renumber" at the beginning of each section, starting from 1, and turn off header and footer editing to see the effect.
￭ Repeat the settings just now in the section of the table of contents page, so that the table of contents page number and the text page number can be flexibly set independently.
Tips: If there are blank pages in sections, just delete them.
