Ren Zheng丨(1916-1999), courtesy name Lanzhai, was born in Huangyan, Zhejiang. During his lifetime, he was a librarian of the Shanghai Institute of Literature and History, a member of the Chinese Calligraphers Association, an executive director of the Shanghai Calligraphers Association, an art consultant of Shanghai International Studies University, and an art consultant of the International Cultural Exchange College of Fudan University. Published and published more than ten kinds, including "Basic Dot-Painting Brushwork in Regular Script", "Guide to Official Writing", "Selected Banknotes of Quatrains in Tang Dynasty", "Lanzhai Tang Poetry and Song Ci Xing Script", etc. Writing more than 7,000 characters in cursive script, adopted by newspapers such as "People's Daily", "Shenzhen Special Zone News", "Wen Wei Po", "Xinmin Evening News"; in 1981, he wrote an inscription for the Huaihai Battle Monument, which was carved in stone; he once wrote for the National Post and Telecommunications Bureau standard typeface. Ren Zheng once wrote an inscription for the Huaihai Battle Monument and an inscription for the Zhou Enlai Memorial Hall. In 1977, Shanghai Type Model Factory invited many well-known calligraphers in Shanghai to write Xingkai characters representing their own styles, and Ren Zheng Xingkai was selected by the factory. It took him two years to complete the Xingkai fonts of nearly 7,000 common printed characters. This set of Renzheng Xingkai characters is widely used in newspapers and books across the country, and has also entered the computer Chinese character Xingkai common font library as a "standard writing model".
