IT House News on June 15th, Microsoft today released the latest Windows 11 Dev preview and Canary preview. The version number for the Dev preview is 23481, and the version number for the Canary preview is 25393, which has no changelog. Highlights of the Dev Preview update are a new handwriting experience and improvements to Windows Ink, which brings iPad-like writing capabilities to Windows 11.
With improvements to Windows Ink, Microsoft now enables users to write text directly into text boxes on their computers with a stylus. This feature is not new, because the iPad has already implemented it in iPadOS 14. Microsoft has also improved the accuracy of its recognition technology, and users can edit text with a cross-out gesture. Microsoft's goal is to make Windows Ink as natural as possible, so if your device supports the stylus, you can use it anywhere you want in the operating system. This feature is currently limited to English only, if you want to enable it, you can go to Settings > Bluetooth and devices > Stylus and Windows Ink, turn on Shell Handwriting.
This is just one of the changes in the Dev preview, and Microsoft has also removed some old settings menus under folder options in File Explorer to simplify the interface.
In addition to these two core changes, this Dev Preview also adds a new Focus Session widget as part of a clock update for Windows Insiders in the Canary and Dev channels in the Microsoft Store, allowing users to Start and stop focus sessions more easily.
