I believe that every designer has encountered the [missing SHX file] dialog box after opening the drawing file during the CAD drawing process. SHX files (also known as shape files) are often used as text fonts or symbol fonts. So when this happens, it is usually caused by the lack of CAD fonts. So, what should I do if the CAD lacks the shx file?
When there are some SHX files in CAD drawings If it is not transmitted with the drawing, or has been moved, renamed, or deleted, the [SHX file is missing] dialog box will pop up automatically when the drawing file is opened with GstarCAD software. As shown below:
Method 1: Replace the missing SHX file
In the [Missing SHX file] dialog box, you can see the number of missing SHX files: 1, click Select [Specify a replacement file for each SHX file], after executing the command, the [Specify font style] dialog box will pop up, and you can see the missing SHX file name in the lower left corner: "Font not found: hzht", according to actual needs Specify the replacement font in the [Big Font] list, and click the [OK] button after the selection is complete. As shown below:
Method 2: Find the missing SHX file
After confirming what is the missing shx file in the drawing, obtain the missing CAD fonts through online download or other channels file, and store it in the [Fonts] folder in the GstarCAD software installation directory. As shown below:
