New Years Eve is just a month away, do you want your holiday envelopes to come out this month? Follow this tutorial and you will be able to. In fact, friends will want you to give them an envelope with font art...
Check out the tutorial together and enjoy it!
Despite the current trend for minimal and modern designs, I love the sophistication of vintage typography. I also really enjoy making intricate, vintage-inspired pieces. As much as I love typography, I rarely use it on an envelope. Until recently, my walnut ink designs and Instagram posts were well liked, so I thought, why not tell everyone how I go about this job?
First, you'll need a regular pen or a fountain pen. You print the template, cut it out, turn it around, and put it in an envelope.
I know you can hardly tell in this picture. Even better if you have some light boxes! If you don't have a light box, you can hold the envelope and work in a sunny window.
I went ahead, but you can skip this step and just ink the stencil. It's entirely up to you. Pencils just make it easier for me to show you myself and myself!
First, write your address in the upper left corner.
Next, write something like "Please send to", "To my dear XXX", "Happy Holidays"...
Once you have all the address information complete, you can start working on the envelope with ink!
Next, I am increasingly fond of using the RPB angled pen. I find this difficult to use, but I really like it and have used it on a few different occasions. This pen made it easy for me to create this envelope.
If you scroll up and look at these walnut envelopes, you'll see that I filled them with thread and more walnut ink. Also, use watercolors to give this envelope a gorgeous glow!
Basically, the typographic art envelope template gives you a nice base design, but you have the creative freedom to use any color you want.
I hope you enjoy this tutorial and design more beautiful mail art.
