1. Early communication is very important

Before the PPT production is officially started, it is necessary to fully communicate with the customer. At this time, the customer will ask us about the PPT customization process, and we need to understand the design needs from the customer.

During the communication process, the following points must be made clear:

c. PPT size

f. Number of pages and delivery time of PPT

Usually, I will send the customer a PPT customization demand form and ask the customer to fill it out so that I can better understand the customer's needs.

2. A deposit must be collected

If you are a personal designer, in order to give yourself a guarantee, you must collect a deposit, and the ratio cannot be less than 50%.

When necessary, a contract needs to be signed to clarify the rights and obligations of both parties.

Don't do anything when you don't have money. When you start production without charging any fees, you actually become passive, and customers will give you endless feedback.

If you meet some old guy, after you finish the PPT, he will tell you: "Our leader is not satisfied with this PPT, forget it this time, let's cooperate next time", and then block you and disappear.

So what if the customer is worried that you won’t do anything for your money? Or what should I do if I am not satisfied with the PPT I made?

3. Cooperation process

Every designer PPT customization has a set of processes, which must be understood by the customer before starting. What I implement here is roughly this process.

1. Communication needs (refer to PPT demand list)

2. Party A is provided with the original manuscript or verbatim draft

3. Determine the production cycle and delivery date

4. Determine the customization fee and pay the deposit

5. Sort out the outline, refine the text content and confirm it with the customer

6. Start making a 3-page draft (confirm before continuing)

7. Give the client the first draft at the agreed time

8. Send the final draft to the client after modification

9. Customer pays the final payment

10. Provide PPT source files and materials


In this process, it is very important to sort out the outline framework and create a style draft.

Combining the outline framework is to help customers determine the content that needs to be presented in the PPT. After it is determined, it is clear that the subsequent text content is not allowed to be modified.

Create 2 versions of the style draft to give customers a choice and help them decide on the style of the PPT. The style determination here also includes the determination of background, color matching, fonts and other elements. This step is very critical.

Once the style draft is finalized, the subsequent design becomes smoother.

4. What you want may be different from what the customer wants

For PPT customization, we must understand who is the audience presented by this PPT?

If it is a teaching competition, then your audience is the judges; if it is a press conference, your audience is the live audience; if it is a business plan, then your audience is the investors.

I once encountered this situation. You designed a very elegant and elegant PPT. After the client saw it, he thought it was so cool and it didn’t look like a PPT for a teaching competition at all.

He told me: "The judges sitting below are all professors in their 50s and 60s. They may not be able to accept this style. Can you make the design more conventional and ordinary?"

5. Customized market

Is the market for PPT customization big? To be honest, from the current point of view, the market has not been fully opened because many companies have not yet realized the importance of PPT.

I have contacted many customers, and most of them asked about the price and then remained silent.

In many people's perception, PPT customization means making PPT on behalf of others. If you don’t have time, find someone to do it for you. A few hundred yuan should be enough.

They don’t know the workload of PPT customization, nor how much design knowledge is involved.

Fortunately, the market is now gradually opening up, and more and more people are beginning to recognize this industry! Many designers can earn tens of thousands a month, which is a good phenomenon.
