First use a ruler to measure the length of the side of the triangle to draw the midline, here is 20 cm.
Using 20/2=10, find the midpoint of the side length segment at 10 cm, and mark D at 10 cm.
Then connect point A to midpoint D with a straight line, so that AD is the midline on BC.
If there is only a compass, use the compass to draw an arc with point B and point as the center point of the circle and a radius greater than that.
Then draw a mark O at the point where the two arcs intersect, which is a point on the perpendicular bisector of BC.
Finally connect AO to extend and intersect BC at point D, so that AD is the midline of BC.
