Waiyan Virtual Teaching and Research Office is an online collective lesson preparation and teaching exchange platform for foreign language teachers in colleges and universities nationwide. It breaks through the constraints of institutions and regions, and carries out online teaching and research activities for college English and English majors. Share collective wisdom, build collective resources, and promote lesson preparation and teaching practice.
From March 12th to April 3rd, 2020, the online lesson preparation series of "New Communicative English Comprehensive Course" in Waiyan Virtual Teaching and Research Office was successfully held. The series of activities consisted of six sessions, attracting nearly a thousand teachers to learn, communicate and discuss online, providing theoretical guidance and useful practical examples for teachers to carry out task-based teaching.
The series of activities has achieved fruitful results.

The online lesson preparation activity of "New Comprehensive Course of Communicative English" specially invites Pan Chunmei, Feng Wei, Liang Jingbi, Fu Jingjing, and Wang Yunfeng, members of the teaching team of Guangdong University of Foreign Studies National Excellent Course and Excellent Resource Sharing Course "Communicative English" to give lectures . Based on their rich practical experience in teaching, the five lecturers combined the specific teaching content of Units 2, 3, and 4 of Volumes 2 and 4 of "New Communicative English Comprehensive Course" to interpret the concept of teaching materials, focus on practical classroom operations, and share their experience in teaching design.

The content of the series of activities closely follows the teaching progress, combined with the actual situation of online teaching, to answer questions for teachers in a targeted manner, and effectively solve teachers' teaching problems. The experts' explanations are detailed and penetrating, which is of great reference value, and the teachers who participated in the research expressed that they have gained a lot. After each lecture, the lecturers carefully answered the questions of the participating teachers, and conducted in-depth exchanges with the participating teachers to stimulate thinking and make progress together.
