Many years ago, I read a book about making PowerPoint The book "Don't Tell Me You Know PPT". Since then, I haven’t read any books related to PPT, until I recently read a good book about PPT——"PPT Speech Power".
What both books have in common is that the authors are both women. The difference is that the focus of "PPT Speech Ability" is not to teach you how to make PPT, but the focus is on speech. PPT just played the role of fanfare.
01 Author Introduction
The author of "PPT Speech Ability" is Sophie.
Teacher Sophie is the winner of Microsoft MOS PPT official certification full score, the first PPT speech teacher in China invited to give lectures in Australia and Canada, and also the record holder of the largest class in the PPT speech training circle with 100 students. Students are all over IBM, Alibaba, Tencent, PetroChina and other well-known enterprises. Teacher Sophie has 10 years of professional experience and has tutored more than 10,000 students. She will teach you how to do it in 2+90 days and make money in your life.
As for why her English name is Sophie, it is also mentioned in the book. She read "Sophie's World" in middle school, so she gave herself an English name with the same name as the heroine in the book. In fact, Sophie is French.
02 Take the audience to prepare a speech
Many people have a lot of doubts about the profession of teachers misunderstood. They think the teacher tells the same thing every year, isn't it too boring? As everyone knows, the students the teacher faces are different every year.
The audience is the sole purpose and goal of the speech. Aristotle said this truth more than 2,000 years ago.
A good speaker is one who has an audience in his eyes. "PPT Speech Ability" provides us with a good method - audience portrait.
As a speaker, the first thing to consider is who to listen to, and what the audience wants to hear should be the first priority. If these goals are not clear, then the audience will only hear a bunch of correct nonsense.
Also, you need to be well prepared for your presentation, at least a week in advance. Some people think that staying up all night can solve the problem, but that is a big mistake. You see, it takes one day to write a verbatim draft, another day to draw a mind map; three days to design a PPT; and finally, two days to practice.
03 Tell a good story
Recently, I am revisiting Romance of the Three Kingdoms ", mainly watching cartoons with children. Recently, I happened to see Lu Bu steal Liu Bei's territory while Zhang Fei was drunk. Later, we all know that Lu Bu was killed by Cao Cao.
Cao Cao finally decided to kill Lu Bu, in fact, because Liu Bei made a good analogy: "Do you see the matter of Ding Jianyang and Dong Zhuo?" At the beginning, Lu Bu recognized Ding Jianyang as his adoptive father , Later he killed Ding Jianyang; then, he recognized Dong Zhuo as his adoptive father, and finally killed Dong Zhuo because of Diao Chan's divorce. How smart Cao Cao is, of course he can understand Liu Bei's implication.
The third chapter of "PPT Speech Ability" teaches readers how to tell a good story.
An analogy is obviously a good way. Although we have learned analogy in high school Chinese, it is often only used in doing questions. If you can't apply it in your life, then you don't really understand it.
After reading "PPT Speech Power", you have gained a lot. For example, it recommended two websites for collecting humorous pictures, Jitu.com and Qianku.com.
When I was writing this article, I also unconsciously practiced the method in the book "PPT Speech Ability".
