I like font design probably when I graduated from senior year at the graduation exhibition. It was interesting to see other people’s font design. As for the real want to learn font design, it’s during the Chinese New Year this year. I thought about my future college For the direction of development, font design is essential and very important.

I see that you participated in the last font course of Brother Bing. What made you decide to learn fonts from the old driver?
Decided to take Bingge’s font course or start with Zakuol. At the beginning, I was looking for font designers on Zakuol, looking for popular ones, and looking for powerful ones. On the day of the class, I finally decided to get in the car of this old driver, and the result was that I drove at the speed of a high-speed rail plane.

Seeing that you have done a great job after just two months of learning from scratch, I am curious how you did it? How do you arrange the time for lectures, practice and work?
In fact, these three are not in conflict. Those who can think of taking Bingge’s courses must have the idea of improving. After weighing the importance, the time will be allocated. Listening to the lectures is a must to listen to the live broadcast, because it starts at 8 o'clock every night, and according to the normal time, I have already left work, so if there is overtime, I will probably say hello to the boss before the class and refuse to work overtime. I really need to work overtime If so, I will also go to class first during the class time, and then continue to work overtime after class. As for learning, I have summed up a method that is very suitable for me. Maybe the friends in my class know it better. I have shared this method many times. Daily work must be done. When working, you can be "properly" lazy, that is, when working, continue to operate with your hands, what should you do, and what you think about is how to design this group of characters , When you have a good idea, write it down immediately, as long as you can understand it yourself, when the "time is right", you can make it after a while, and then of course give up during the noon break, continue to write, in the afternoon It's still the same way, and I will do it for a while after work, and that's probably it.

I can see that your work style is quite rich. Can you share your design experience with everyone?
I personally think that the rich style is because I don’t know anything, so I want to try it, and I have to learn any style. I spend a lot of time every day watching some good works, even if I don’t have time during the day, every night. At least two hours should be spared for reading. When you see a good work, you will save it. If you accumulate more, you will naturally have an idea. It must not be a temporary search when you are making a certain group of characters. That is useful. It's not very big, it's just equivalent to copying someone else's excellent design, it's also because I have no foundation, I don't understand anything, and I'm not a person who admits defeat, I know too well that I am the kind of person who has no pressure and is completely fine. Motivated people, so I saw a gap after the class started, so I reserved one group for Bing Ge’s homework, then I will do three groups, and even five groups in the later stage. The same phrases are expressed in different forms, which may not be expressed well, but in You have already learned something in this process, and at least you have taken the first step before you will gain something. There are some changes in the current method, because I know which areas I have more deficiencies in, so I will do some targeted exercises. As for more experience and experience, it is still like Brother Bing said, do more , no special skills, just watch more and do more.

Talk about your future design direction. What do you think you need to improve in font design? How will you continue to improve yourself?
In the direction of font design, I personally think that vision and thinking are the first things I need to improve, so I should read more, and then I will be more specific, that is, Song typeface and cute fonts, which are relatively speaking not what I am good at, so I will Use more time to pay attention to these and practice them. Of course, there are still many ways to improve, and better ways are still being explored. At present, it is to watch more every day, watch it after eating, watch it in the bathroom, watch it after rest, and watch it before going to bed. , the channels and methods are not fixed. For example, recently, I found that the small slogans on the homepages of many variety shows and Netease Cloud Music have font designs almost every day, which are very good. Of course, they must be practiced every day.

Tell me about you other than design, what are your hobbies? How to release work pressure?
When it comes to hobbies, I have to mention the reason why I don’t know anything... I originally majored in visual communication, but the key point is that I have been dancing for the past four years... Yes, hip-hop, breaking, Those cool floor movements look very pretentious, and there are many girls around me every day... Of course, the result is very good, um, very good, I don’t know shit professionally, and sometimes I don’t even go to class, hip-hop On the other hand, it’s not bad... As for releasing work pressure, I use two methods, writing and dancing. I can find myself in these two methods. One is spiritual satisfaction, and the other is the one after the physical strength is completely released. Kind of carefree dripping.

Let’s talk about the Font Gang. When did you join the Font Gang? After joining the Font Gang, how many works have been on the list? Participating in the daily word activity of Font Gang, did it help you?
I was on March 17, 2018, the first time I contributed to the Font Help. At that time, I didn’t make the list for four consecutive days. I made about ten groups of characters, and I lost all of them. I didn’t feel that I lost confidence. Those works will be carefully read several times to feel the same set of characters, why others would do this, thinking in this way, the thinking and skills have been greatly improved, and the fonts that fail the list will be sent to Brother Bing every day, Brother Bing is very careful After the commentary, I will revise and learn from it, but for a whole month, the kind of fonts that are uninterrupted every day, I have 22 groups of fonts on the list, and I showed off a little with Brother Bing at that time, Brother Bing sent me a screenshot of my first homework at the time, and I was very impressed. The font help is really a very good platform. I will improve every day and gain new insights.
