Returns the sample covariance, which is the average of the products of the deviations for each pair of data points in the two data sets.

Grammar

COVARIANCE.S(array1,array2)

COVARIANCE.S function syntax has the following parameters:

▪Array1 Required. The first cell range of integers.

▪Array2 Required. The second cell range of integers.

Remarks

▪Argument must be a number, or a name, array, or reference containing a number.

▪ If the array or reference parameter contains text, logical values, or blank cells, these values will be ignored; however, cells containing zero values will be counted.

▪ If array1 and array2 have different numbers of data points, COVARIANCE.S returns the error value #N/A.

▪ Covariance if array1 or array2 is empty, or contains only 1 data point. S returns the #DIV/0! error value.
