5. Completely replace the ENTER-NEW-FONT-NAME placeholder with the font family name shown in the settings page header. For example, Courier New.

6. Click the file -- save as command.


7. Under "Save as type", select the "All files" option, then name the file anything with a .reg extension, for example, change-windows-10-font.reg, and click the Save button.

8. Right-click on the ".reg" file and select the "Merge" command.

9. Click the Yes button and then click the OK button.

10. Restart the computer.

After you complete these steps, you can see the new font family on all elements of your desktop, including in File Explorer, message boxes, the taskbar, and applications that use default system fonts.

Restore default system font

If you want to revert the changes, use a previously created system restore point or follow the steps below:

1. Open the Notepad application.
