The apartment is located on the ground floor of a typical Parisian building in the 16th arrondissement of Paris. The space mixes Art Deco influences and Wabi-Sabi sensibility.

French interior and furniture designer Emmanuelle Simon completely reorganized the original layout to meet the needs of a family with three children , creating a series of interconnected living spaces interspersed with more private nooks and alcoves.

As "a peaceful place", as she puts it, the interior is a model of understated sophistication, thanks to Simon's A painterly eye for composition and a passion for craftsmanship are expressed through a tactile vocabulary of natural textures and a sculptural language of circular forms. Featuring vintage and contemporary furnishings, including numerous pieces of her own design, and an eclectic collection of art, the soulful apartment is a deft testament to the designer's talent for carefully curating spaces.

Simon added The apartment’s original parquet flooring and decorative ceiling moldings, combined with a natural color scheme of crisp whites, soft undertones and sandy tones, help enhance the diffusion of natural light and also inject a soothing atmosphere into the space.

What the interiors lack in colour, they make up for in texture, thanks to an abundance of natural materials such as frosted oak, travertine, ceramics and plant fibres. The preference for curves and circles in apartment furniture enhances the flowing circulation of the layout and injects a sense of rounded softness. Meanwhile, three slender arched openings were introduced between the living and dining rooms to make the space feel taller.
